Everton’s Season So Far – with @AidenEdwards_97

Taking part in this edition of Fan Focus is young Evertonian @AidenEdwards_97

Sum up our season so far in three words?

Lack of consistency

What have been the positives?

The result’s in Europe and some in the League. Wolfsburg being my personal favourite.

The negatives?

Dropping points against teams we can easily beat.

Player who has stood out most?

There is two really for me. King Naismith and James McCarthy. They have been amazing so far, I love them.

Any thoughts you had of Martinez last season now changed?

Not really, just lack of team morale which is why we are not consistent enough.

Areas that we need to address?

Despite it improving in recent weeks, defence. And we NEED a new left midfielder.

Thoughts on EFC in Europe and just how far can we go in the Europa League?

I’m really happy with how we have been. Wolfsburg and Lille was amazing, the reverse fixture vs lille was a bit poor, and travelling all the way to Russia and managing to get a point was ok im my eyes.

Who would you like to see us sign in January and in what position to do we need reinforcements?

Like I said a new left midfielder and a back up right back. Hibbert is too slow I think.

Mirallas’ return from injury – how vital is this and why?

Mirallas is such a key player for us and gives us that energy and desire to win games making him vital in our success.

Who do you think will leave Everton in the near future?

Erm… Tough one really isn’t it? Because rumours can come from anywhere. I think that some youth players will leave, Hallam Hope, Matty Kennedy etc. but I don’t know about first team players, tricky one to answer.

Where will we finish in the EPL and EL this season?

6th-8th. Mainly because of Europe and not a fully fit squad. Ross Barkley’s absence at the¬†beginning made us not have the best of starts. But hopefully we can have a good few months and finish in the high stages of the top half.

What did you make of the figures quoted recently in regard to Everton’s finances?

After seeing Everton and profit in the same sentence it came as a bit of a shock in all honesty. Made up obviously because it could lead to new players or upgraded facilities.

Any thoughts on our plan (or lack of one) for a potential new stadium?

Not too bothered really because I want to stay at Goodison. Goodison is unique and a new stadium is something that I don’t want to happen yet. But in the long future maybe.

Have you ever seen Arouna Kone?

He nearly ran me over once outside Goodison and that’s about it. Where is he now? Jesus have no idea, must be very shaken after nearly running over a 16 year old…
